Hi scarecrow :) I was hoping for a little help, I noticed you have 2 things in your ageden that i do in mine and that is oregano and eldrberries..I cannot get the oregano to germinate what an I doing wrong?? and I have 2 small elderberries only purchased this year about 10 inches high(they are in pots).. we have similar climates to each other and I was wondering where the best place to plant them out would be,, they are wilting a lot in their pots even being well watered ,,what would be your suggestion?thnka a bunch (mashelly)

    The only hint I can give you for the oregano is don't keep them too wet. They like it dry...I no longer have to grow it from seed as it's growing like a weed here!!!

    With things I have trouble germinating I tend to try a few seeds each month that way I'm bound to get the timing right sometime!

    The Elderberries would do best in a cool, sheltered, damp spot (if you have one). I am yet to get a decent crop off them here. I think my Autumns are too hot for the berries to form. But we always seem to have plenty of flowers!
    I've got one on the south side of the shade house (away from the sun) and another under an old Almond tree.

    For berries it looks like your Blueberries are a winner...I can't even try those over here, our soil is way too alkaline!
